Rodrigo "Rod" Jimenez

Rodrigo is the CEO of SHR, a company devoted to helping hoteliers gain a competitive advantage. Today, more than 2,500 properties rely on SHR to obtain reservation connectivity, powerful booking engines, CRM, revenue management, and digital marketing. Prior to SHR, Rod co-founded and led Whiteboard Labs, LLC, an integrated developer of Web-based software solutions as well as its predecessor, Webvertising, Inc. Under his leadership, Webvertising developed and commercialized a Web-based central reservation system (CRS) for the hotel industry called iHotelier. The application was sold to TravelCLICK, in early 2004. At Whiteboard Labs Rod oversaw the launch of multiple applications, including the Windsurfer CRS, a modern CRS created in 2010.  In 2012, Rod also led the company in the formation of SHR, a Joint Venture with Singapore-based City Developments LTD. SHR then became a Serent Capital portfolio company in March 2020. Most recently, the company acquired Avvio, LTD and Ireland-based provider of AI-enhanced booking engines and web sites. 

Prior to venturing into hospitality technology, he spent 10 years in the banking industry, where he advised many companies in a variety of industries and countries. Rod was Vice President and Client Advisor in the international department of the Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) in Houston. In that capacity, he advised subsidiaries of multinational companies in corporate finance and investment banking matters. Prior to joining Chase, Rod worked for Bank of America's Latin America division where he was responsible for a portfolio of assets of more than $600 million.

Rodrigo attended the Yale School of Management Global Leadership Program and graduated as part of the class of 2020. He also participated in the Financial Management Program at Stanford University in 1997. He holds a B.B.A. in Marketing and an M.B.A. in International Business & Finance from the University of Houston.  He has served as a director or advisor on several start-ups and local non-profit boards.  He has been married to Dana for 27 years and they have two sons (26 and 20).  He loves reading, long distance running and biking, and fishing.
