What is Golden Key?
Golden Key is an International Honor Society. Since its birth in 1977 at Georgia State University, its purpose is to recognize juniors and seniors whose scholastic excellence earned them a spot in the top 15 percent of their class. To date, there are over 1.5 million lifetime members and 15,000 honorary members at Golden Key who belong to approximately 350 chapters from around the world.
Chartered on April 29, 1979, UH GK is the oldest Southwestern chapter. Its long-standing membership and strong commitment are evidenced through a number of awards received in past annual GK conventions, including Most Improved Chapter Award, Honorable Mention Key Chapter Award, and the Key Chapter Award.

members. How Can I Join?
Membership is by invitation only. Part-time or full-time students of all majors in the top 15% of their junior or senior class qualify. The estimated overall GPA should be above a 3.3. If you think you are qualified but have not been contacted, please notify our chapter advisor Dr. Kamran Riaz and he will review your candidacy.
