University of Houston Faculty Senate
Resolution Supporting the University of Houston Framework Plan
(Proposed by the UH Faculty Senate Budget & Facilities Committee on September 27, 2006
Approved by the UH Faculty Senate Executive Committee on October 4, 2006
Approved by unanimous vote of the UH Faculty Senate on October 18, 2006)

Whereas, The University of Houston Faculty Senate is the official organization representing the faculty;

Whereas, The University of Houston anticipates student enrollment to increase to 41,000 within fifteen years;

Whereas, The University of Houston System Board of Regents in anticipation of that growth and the desire to lead the University to Tier One status is considering adoption of a twenty-year Framework Plan;

Whereas, The University of Houston Framework Plan provides for increased on-campus student housing to support that growth, consideration of campus open spaces, integrated transportation and parking, interest and activity clusters, and development of a mixed use urban residential learning community;

Whereas, The University of Houston System Board of Regents remains committed to improving the quality of education through increasing faculty size consistent with Tier One status and continuing to enhance the quality of students attending the University;

Therefore, be it resolved, That the Faculty Senate of the University of Houston voices its support for the Framework Plan.
