Students taking a tour of campus

Learning, Leaping

Setting foot on a university campus is like entering a new world, especially for recent high school graduates. Thanks to “The Jump,” the leap from high school to college is transformed into a smoother step toward an academic future.

“The Jump” is a summer program that offers selected incoming UH freshmen a chance to begin the college experience with discounted courses and forums focusing on college life.

Students accepted into this program take two required courses for the price of one and have opportunities to meet faculty, staff and students to learn more about UH. “The Jump” also offers academic advising and a student mentors  program.

Enrollment for The Jump is available each summer on a first-come, first-serve basis to students who have taken the Texas Higher Education Assessment test or who are exempt from this exam.

For more details, visit the website for "The Jump", or contact an academic adviser at thejump@uh.edu or by calling (713) 743-4001.
