From the rodeo to the Rolling Stones, Reliant Park is home to Houston's mega-events.
If something big is happening in H-town, it's most likely happening at Reliant Park.
Just a short drive from UH, the park is home to the state-of-the-art Reliant Stadium, Reliant Arena, Reliant Center and the legend itself, the Reliant Astrodome.
Reliant Stadium is the first NFL stadium to boast a retractable roof and natural grass. It's here that the Houston Texans make Sundays super during football season. It's also the place where cowboys come to play during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and it's a haven for major concerts such as the Rolling Stones. The stadium also serves as home field for the Cougars during high profile football games.
In 2004, the stadium hosted Super Bowl XXXVII, which featured a high-energy halftime show featuring Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, Kid Rock and UH's Spirit of Houston Marching Band.
The neighboring Reliant Arena is an all-purpose venue hosting events such as circuses, conventions and car shows. Equally versatile is Reliant Center, which hosts job fairs, conferences and the ever-popular Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows.
