Dr. E. Andrew Boyd
Dr. Andrew Boyd is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Industrial
Engineering at the University of Houston, having spent ten years as a university
professor and another ten as Chief Scientist at PROS. He received his A.B. with
Honors at Oberlin College with majors in mathematics and economics in 1981, and
his Ph.D. in Operations Research from MIT in 1987. He has over 25 scholarly
publications to his credit, including papers in Operations Research, Management
Science, and Mathematical Programming, among others. He has held
numerous research grants from agencies such as the National Science Foundation and
the Federal Aviation Administration, has written several technical articles and
book chapters, and was part of a 2003 Edelman finalist team for work with Texas
Children's Hospital. He was elected an INFORMS Fellow in 2007. His new book is
The Future of Pricing: How Airline Ticket Pricing Has Inspired a Revolution
(New York: Palgrave-MacMillan, 2007).
