Eligibility Criteria

The annual distributed income shall be spent for student scholarship(s) based on the following criteria:
  • Scholarship applicant should be a science teacher in middle grades or secondary school who is enrolled in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction's masters or doctoral program in Science Education.
  • Preference may be given to full-time doctoral students.
  • If there are no applicants that meet Criteria a, consideration for the award may be given to a masters or doctoral student in Science Education who is not a middle or secondary school teacher, but perhaps teaching at the community college level or in an informal setting such as a museum, zoo, etc.
  • Scholarship applicant must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Scholarship award is renewable for up to two years, provided the recipient continues to meet eligibility
  • Scholarship recipient may accept other scholarships and grants in conjunction with this scholarship up to the cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, books, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses.
  • The recipient(s) of the scholarship will be determined by the College of Education Scholarship Selection Committee.
