Kenny Mauk, Associate Director for Operations and Outreach, was selected as a faculty member for the 2018 Association of College and University Housing Officers-International James C. Grimm National Housing Training Institute. Kenny will be working in the Resources competency area, which includes Occupancy Management, Budget, and Facilities Management and will be a part of the cohort group at Michigan State University from June 4 – 9, 2018.

The James C. Grimm National Housing Training Institute is an intense professional development opportunity for individuals who were interested in continuing their career in the field. Since 1991, the institute has hosted 630 housing professionals and continues to be a resource for participants to develop career plans and to build relationships with colleagues and faculty from around the country.

Don Yackley, Executive Director for Student Housing and Residential Life, was selected as a faculty member for the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International  (ACUHO-I) STARS College. STARS College is a three-day experience for undergraduate students interested in learning about the student affairs and campus housing professions and will be held in Denver, Colorado from July 5-7, 2018.

Don continues his engagement with ACUHO-I, following his faculty appointment to the National Housing Training Institute in 2017.

“I am so excited to have both Don and Kenny serve on the national level for ACUHO-I. Their appointment to these nationally recognized student housing and residential life programs speaks to the respect and esteem they have received from their peers,” remarked Dr. Daniel Maxwell, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. “They are both educators at heart, and I am pleased to know that they are contributing to the professional development of the up and coming housing professionals.”
