Media

At UH, we recognize the importance of using social networks and multimedia as tools for reaching out to students and the campus community. Here are some highlights of what student affairs has done in the last year or so!

Student Affairs 101 Conference

The Division of Student Affairs partnered with the Higher Education and Cultural Studies Program at the College of Education to host the first Student Affairs 101 Conference at the University of Houston. The conference, which included a student panel, a faculty-led case discussion, and an open forum with UH student affairs practioners, was designed to inform student about the many opportunities within student affairs that support student development.

DSA Awards Program & Luncheon

"Honoring those who exemplify the Division's commitment to Supporting Student Success." The Division of Student Affairs Awards program is designed to honor staff members (individually or as a group in some cases) who exemplify the Division's commitment to service. The awards recognize the ongoing contributions to excellence that members of the UH community put forth each day.

Frontier Fiesta

Frontier Fiesta is a student–run, student–led festival hosted by the University of Houston to promote scholarship, community, and education in the University of Houston students, staff, and faculty, as well as in the Houston community. Frontier Fiesta is a diverse showcase for the talents of the University of Houston student body. Each year a piece of our campus is transformed into a fully functional town called "Fiesta City" which features free live concerts each night, variety shows by student organizations, carnival booths, multicultural performances, and a BBQ Cook–Off and Bake Fiesta.

Safe Spring Break Backyard Luau

The collaborative efforts of Student Program Board, Wellness Center, and University Centers offered fun activities with educational components. The collaborators designed the event to entertain students while giving them resources to think about safe alternatives for spring break.
