At Ready..Set..Commence! we mix fun with academics as we celebrate CLASS graduation candidates and get them ready for the big day. This relaxed event is set-up fair-style to allow students to come and go as they please.

Graduation candidates are greeted with a small gift at event check –in then proceed to pick up their walk card from a department advisor (a walk card is the card the student must present at the commencement ceremony to have their name called as he/she crosses the stage).  From there, students are encouraged to make their way around the different stations, some of which include:  decorate your mortar board, refreshments, bookstore, alumni services, career services, spin the wheel for a prize, spirit cord donation, sign the Senior mural, and more.

Volunteers are needed at Ready…Set…Commence! to assist with the following:

  • Set-Up (drape linens, hang banners, label stations, decorate hall, set out supplies)
  • Student Check-In
  • Refreshment Table (replenish napkins and snacks)
  • Decorate Your Cap Station (restock art supplies as needed)

CLASS will host Ready…Set…Commence! on two days.  The event will take place at Elizabeth D. Rockwell Pavilion located on the second floor of M.D. Anderson Library.
