The National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression’s Young Investigator Award is targeted at early-career scientists pursuing some of the biggest areas of growth in neuroscience research, including the study of epigenetics and genomics, cognition in schizophrenia, and new approaches to understanding and treating childhood and adolescent mental disorders. Dr. Carla Sharp was selected to be a recipient of the award to conduct research to establish a reward-related behavioral and neurobiological endophenotype for Major Depressive Disorder in children or adolescents and clarify the etiological status of altered reward processing in the development of Major Depressive Disorder. The study will commence in January 2010.
