Groundbreaking and reunion will raise support for Valenti School

The Jack J. Valenti School of Communication will throw a reunion party on Sunday, Oct. 10, for all alumni, faculty and friends — past and present.

It will be capped by a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating new communication facilities and the start of work on the school's multi-million dollar new wing. Construction is expected to be completed in time for the Fall 2011 semester.

The festivities will start with light refreshments at 3 p.m. in the Alumni/Athletic Center on Cullen Boulevard.  Later, at about 4:30 p.m., the group will cross the street for the ceremony at the Valenti School of Communication, where demolition began in September.

The facility will house the school's new Lance T. Funston Communication Center, the building's first formal entrance, faculty offices and classrooms.
