Thank you for your interest in Army ROTC at the University of Houston! The Houston Battalion is a cohesive and supportive group that strives to prepare all Cadets for challenging and rewarding careers as Army Officers. Cadets graduate with lifelong friends and a vast network of Army colleagues. While training will push you physically and mentally, you will certainly have fun while doing it! Aside from leadership courses and physical training, ROTC events at UH include Military Ball, Dining In, a football game against the Air Force, volunteering for hurricane relief, working at the Houston Rodeo, marching in the Veterans’ Day Parade, and many more.
Further optional ROTC opportunities and teams are listed under the tabs on the left of this page. These activities build the unit’s esprit de corps and add a fun, active component to Cadets’ everyday college life, while preparing them for Army Officership. Whatever your interests, you are likely to find opportunities within ROTC that appeal to you. For its many opportunities, Army ROTC requires only a few hours a week, so it will not interfere with classes in your major or social life.
