Summary: Set in 1820's Paris, Antoinette is the Duchess of Langeais, a married coquette living during The Restoration. When a handsome general Armand de Montriveau first meets her, he realizes it is true love from that moment on. Flattered by his attentions, Antoinette, orchestrates a calculating game of seduction, but she repeatedly refuses Montriveau, humiliating him.
