AMER 4300

AMER 4300 is the American Cultures Program capstone experience. It involves a special problems course, either under the direction of the American Culture Program's director, or with another faculty member of the student's choosing.

Generally, AMER 4300 either takes the form of an internship or a research project. In either case, the student typically writes a 15-20 page essay.

Recent projects include:

  • An oral history of HISD's High School for Law Enforcement
  • A history of Jewish immigration through Galveston
  • A study of Houston's rock music scene
