Pokharel

Having taught 15 years at some universities in Nepal, he completed PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), USA. While at UTEP, he volunteered in the Office of International Programs as an International Representative from Nepal, and in the meantime, he also served a non-profit agency in El Paso community as a translator and grant writer in volunteer service. As a scholar, he presented research papers in several national and international conferences and published many articles in different journals in Nepal and in TESOL Journal, USA. He also served as a reviewer of TESOL Journal, and Journal of International Students. He taught first-year composition and advanced writing courses at UTEP, and first-year writing and literature courses at Texas A & M University, College Station. At University of Houston, he teaches first-year writing courses and a course of literature and culture. His research interest include history of rhetorics, rhetorical theory, rhetorical situation, new media studies, digital rhetoric, theories of technology, world rhetorics, and cross-cultural rhetorics.
