Catalyst: Arts, Education and Cultural Transformation, a Faculty Senate Conference, will feature keynote speaker Carlton Turner (Executive Director of Alternate Roots - a regional non-profit arts organization working at the intersection of arts and social justice). Local, regional and national leaders will join to reflect on the power of the arts to foster tomorrow's world-changing ideas.

University of Houston System Public Art Tours 2017-2018

Public Art at the University of Houston System will be hosting tours of the UH System Public Art Collection the first Friday of each month throughout the 2017-2018 academic year. PLEASE NOTE some of these tours take place at UH and some at UH Downtown. All of the tours are free and open to the public, but those interested in attending are asked to view the schedule and RSVP for the dates they’d like to attend. A schedule of the tours can be found on the Public Art webpage.

Man and Superman

Written by George Bernard Shaw Directed by guest artist James Bohnen In Shaw's witty classic, topics including predatory women, motherhood, politics, moral progress, American millionaires, the rise of labor and man's coming dependence on the automobile are viewed as Shaw saw them. John Tanner, an opinionated, progressive and independent male, tries frantically to escape marrying wily Ann Whitefield, whose guardian he is. But despite his best efforts, Tanner finally submits to the inevitability of Shaw's "Life Force" as personified in Ann.
