10 Things Alumni Can Do to Help NSM Reach the Top

  1. Update your information
    Keep your contact information current to hear about all the exciting breakthroughs at NSM. Go to http://nsm.uh.edu/alumni/update-info.php.
  2. Keep in touch
    Let us and other alumni know about the milestones in your life by e-mailing Rolando Garcia at rdgarcia@uh.edu.
  3. Spread the word about NSM to friends and colleagues
    Put your rolodex to work for UH! Connect us with other donor prospects, alumni, and key contacts within your company.
  4. Build an alumni support base that will catapult UH to top-tier status
    Support from former students is a major component of a university’s national ranking. Give an annual gift to NSM or double your current annual financial commitment to NSM.
  5. Help bright but needy students with the cost of rising tuition **
    Fund a scholarship endowment that serves as a legacy for you and your family. You can build that endowment over time.
  6. Make a difference in the lives of current students
    Serve as an NSM Alumni Ambassador by volunteering at outreach events, speaking to
    student groups, or mentoring a student.
  7. Do well by doing good **
    Decrease your tax burden by making a planned gift through a bequest, charitable gift annuity, or remainder trust, among other options.
  8. Make NSM a world-class research institution **
    Endow a professorship or faculty chair to help NSM attract the most accomplished and renowned researchers to its classrooms and labs.
  9. Bring NSM’s groundbreaking research to the forefront**
    Become a partner in the research breakthroughs happening at NSM by endowing a research center.
  10. Be our partner over the long haul
    Support NSM every year through an annual gift. Participate in Houston Alumni Organization events. Let us know how we are doing and what we can do better.
