Former UH Students

Re-admission for Former Students in Good Standing

Former University of Houston students in good standing do not need to reapply for admission. If you have attended another university since leaving UH, however, you must submit an official transcript from that university to our Office of Admissions. 

**NEW** Former University of Houston students will need to meet with an academic advisor in their current or intended major to review degree plan information and set enrollment activities. 

Re-admission for Former Students on Academic Suspension

Only the dean of the college of the student's major may readmit students on academic suspension from the University of Houston. Re-admission from academic suspension is not automatic. Students seeking re-admission to the University of Houston should follow the guidelines posted in the undergraduate catalog.

Returning Former Graduate and/or Professional Students

Current or former University of Houston graduate and professional students who wish to be admitted to a different graduate program will need to submit a petition form to the new department.

Current or former University of Houston graduate and professional students who did not graduate with an undergraduate degree from UH and wish to take post-baccalaureate courses must submit a Transfer Apply Texas Application, a $50 application fee, and official transcripts by the published deadlines.

Academic Fresh Start

Students applying for admission to the University of Houston may elect to have all academic coursework completed at other institutions 10 or more years prior to the time of application ignored for admission purposes. Learn more about Academic Fresh Start.
