What should I bring?

All students should bring the following to Orientation:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Final transcripts from your high school and/or former college(s), if you have not submitted them to UH already
  • Proof of scores for Math or English placement exams, Advanced Placement tests, SAT, ACT, THEA and any other applicable tests
  • Sweater or jacket (some buildings may be cold)
  • Casual clothes, including comfortable walking shoes
  • Umbrella or raincoat (just in case)

Where can I park during conferences?

You have a complimentary/free parking option:
Students and guests attending the conference may park at no cost in Lots A & C, Entrance 20, at Spur 5 and University Drive; and in Lot 4A, at Calhoun Road and Wheeler Avenue, with the parking permit found here. Please print the permit and display it on your vehicle’s dashboard.

Non-complimentary parking options include:
Park in the UH parking garage (located at Entrance 1 at the intersection of Calhoun Road and University Drive); the first half hour is free and then an hourly rate is applied.

Where do students stay overnight?

There are no overnight accommodations for students attending the one-day ART conference. Students can take advantage of the Hilton University of Houston Hotel on campus for overnight accommodations or make reservations at any of the surrounding hotels in the area. We are not able to offer housing to our family members and guests. Guests accompanying students can take advantage of the Hilton University of Houston Hotel on campus for overnight accommodations or make reservations at any of the surrounding hotels in the area. What are the fees and deadlines?

The fee for transfer students is $60 and the fee for guests is $30. Fees are non-refundable. Payment for ART is due before you can view and select a conference date through your myUH portal.
