University of Houston faculty members are leaders in their fields who regularly make things happen—in the lab, in society, and across the world.
Computer Science Professor Ioannis A. Kakadiaris, for example, is working toward early detection of heart attack risk. Kirill Larin, assistant professor of biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering is working with the Navy to develop a non-invasive tool that can diagnose decompression sickness before its effects are felt. And Professor Kishore Mohanty is finding new ways to put unused oil to work.
Closer to home, Houston faculty are making things happen in every classroom, working closely with each student to open up new worlds and new possibilities. As one student recently wrote about English professor Elizabeth Brown-Guillory, “She showed me what I could become.”
