Personal Identification and Contact Information
The registration process for UHCE requires you to provide personal information, such as your name and contact information. This information may be used by UHCE to send you your student ID number should you forget it. UHCE will not disclose, trade, rent, lease or loan your name or other personal identification information to any party outside the University of Houston.
Financial Information
If you choose to pay your registration fees on-line, you will be asked for credit card account information, including the name on the credit card, billing address, and expiration date. All of this information is encrypted using SSL, industry standard secure technology encryption that is designed to protect sensitive information. Your communication is authenticated using Verisign certificates. The credit card information that you provide at the time of purchase is used only to process that purchase and will not be disclosed, sold, traded, rented, or otherwise revealed to any other party.

Opt-Out Policy
UHCE offers registered users a means to de-activate their records. If, at any time after registering for information and paying course tuition, you change your mind about receiving information from UHCE, you can deactivate your account by contacting UHCE via email, telephone, or written letter. For legal and accounting purposes, your registration payment records will remain in the UHCE database, but your login and your email address will be deactivated.

Security
We want to provide a safe and secure experience to our site users. The university uses customary and commercially reasonable security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under their control. Security measures include, but are not limited to, industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, Verisign certificates, firewalls, and internal policies to maintain the security of stored data. Access to personal contact information and registration payment records is granted only to the registered user and authorized UHCE personnel. These safeguards help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of personal information and records. If your credit card information is stolen and used by a third party, under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50 of fraudulent credit card charges. In the event of unauthorized credit card use, or if your card is lost or stolen, you must notify your credit card provider immediately in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
Statistics
For site management functions, information is collected for analysis and statistical purposes. This information is not reported or used in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information, and will not be released to any outside parties unless legally required to do so in connection with law enforcement investigations or other legal proceedings.
