Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President for University Advancement
Eli Cipriano, who joined the University of Houston System in 1992 to manage University Advancement Services, currently serves as associate vice chancellor/associate vice president of University Advancement. He oversees operations of the division and administers advancement services, which includes prospect management and research, stewardship, gift processing, data management reporting, budget and planning, human resources and operations.
Cipriano, who was born and raised in Syracuse, N.Y., received a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communication.
Prior to joining UH, Cipriano worked for the Metropolitan Houston Chapter of the March of Dimes for a decade, managing a wide assortment of local fundraising events, such as WalkAmerica – the most successful version in the country at the time – along with numerous galas, golf tournaments and telethons.
At UH, Cipriano has led a number of special fundraising projects, including building campaigns for the Melcher Center for Public Broadcasting (TV and radio) and the initial teaching center and administrative facility for the UH System at Sugar Land.
