Dear Friends,
When I first reached out and asked you to share your thoughts and participate in building the future of the University of Houston, I had high hopes for a great response.
And now, after thousands of students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members have participated, I am truly inspired by your passion for this university. I have read suggestions ranging from strengthening our on-campus community and improving graduation rates to attracting nationally prominent faculty and promoting stronger local research partnerships.
If you have not already done so, I encourage you to share your ideas about how we can strengthen the reputation of the University of Houston as a nationally premier research institution and continue to excel with student success as our fundamental mission.
After these first 100 days in office, I will meet with the Board of Regents and my leadership team to analyze your suggestions and outline our vision for the future as well as our strategies, plans, and priorities.
